Al-Majîd: The Glorious

Allah the Glorious is seen in that which is noble in its essence, beautiful in its acts, and generous in its gifts. Even as nobility of essence when joined to goodness in deeds is 'glory' so that Allah is called the Glorious as well as the Noble (Al-Mâjid) yet the latter is a more intense form of the verb. The Glorious appears to combine the meaning of the names the Majestic (Al-Jalîl), the Bestower (Al-Wahhâb), and the Generous (Al-Karîm).
